Dell unveiled four new tablets today at an event in New York City. Two of them, which we have already covered, run on Android. The remaining two run on Windows 8.1 and are called Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro. The Dell Venue 8 Pro has an 8 inch 1,280×800 IPS display with pen input support, Intel’s new quadcore “Bay Trail” processors coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It weighs just 400 grams, runs Windows 8.1 and is claimed to offer 10 hours of battery life. This tablet will cost $299.99 when it is released in the market on October 18th.
The Dell Venue 11 Pro has a 10.8 inch full 1080p HD IPS display, quadcore Intel “Bay Trail” processor or up to 4th generation Intel Haswell i3 and i5 processor options. It supports up to 8GB of RAM, has 256GB of onboard storage, a full size USB port, microSD card slot and a HDMI port. Interestingly, the Dell Venue 11 Pro will come with a removable battery that offers up to 10 hours of battery life. In the event that the user is not near a charging point, they can simply swap the battery. Docks and keyboards for the Venue 11 Pro have also been announced.
The Slim Keyboard will double as a case, whereas the Mobile Keyboard offers an island-style layout and an additional battery which adds 80 percent of additional juice. There’s also a Tablet Desktop Dock which contains dual display-out ports and a full size USB 3.0 port. Dell Venue 11 Pro also runs Windows 8.1, it will cost $499.99. Dell hasn’t provided a concrete U.S. release date for this tablet as yet.
