Cellphone Saves Gas Station Clerk’s Life By Stopping A Bullet Fired At Him

In the year 2013, we think it’s safe to say a great majority of people walking around carry a cellphone around with them. Cellphones allow us to stay in communication with people we may not be around at the time, as well as to pass the time through various games and applications. But one Florida gas station attendant’s cellphone did more than just allow him to communicate with others. It downright saved his life.

On the morning of October 28 at approximately 4:45 A.M., a gas station attendant in an suburb of Orlando was held up at gunpoint by a man with a revolver. The criminal demanded the attendant open the safe, but he was unable to do so. The robber then instructed a second clerk to attempt to open the safe, although he was also unable to open it. The robber then fled the scene, but on his way out, he fired a round at one of the clerks on his way out.

Luckily for the attendant on the receiving end of that gunshot, his cellphone had taken the shot. The clerk had no idea the cellphone had taken the hit, that is, until he pulled it out of his shirt pocket. After hearing this story, we think we’ll be carrying around our cellphone in our shirt pockets from now on, just in case.
