Apple Television Rumored For Late 2014 Launch, Could Cost $1,500-$2,500

Over the past year or so, we have heard the countless rumors about Apple’s alleged iTV, which is an actual television device versus the “Apple TV” gadget. Last we heard, analyst Brian White stated that his sources have revealed to him that the device could be launching next year, and now according to a new report by analyst Masahiko Ishino as reported by Bloomberg, that does indeed appear to be the case, although the launch window is said to be late next year although no specific dates were mentioned. 

Given that Apple holds about three different events a year, WWDC in the middle of the year, an iPhone event in September, and an iPad event in October, there is a good chance that the device could be announced at any of these events, unless of course Apple creates a separate event entirely or changes their schedule.

According to the report, the alleged TV will feature a frameless design and will see its display panels sourced from the likes of LG, with Samsung for graphical processing, and with Corning supplying Gorilla Glass 3 for the glass cover that should make it a little harder to break/scratch. Ultimately these Apple television devices are predicted to cost between $1,500-$2,500 per unit.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we have been hearing about this alleged device for a while now with no concrete evidence, so hopefully 2014 will the year that we will actually see something.
