T-Mobile Will No Longer Offer BlackBerry Devices In Their Stores
Earlier this month it was rumored that T-Mobile was thinking about removing BlackBerry devices from their retail stores due to poor sales. As it turns out the rumor was true after all as BlackBerry has since confirmed to Reuters that they will no longer be offering BlackBerry devices via their retail stores in the future. According to David Carey, the executive vice president for corporate services at T-Mobile, he claims that “keeping stock in the retail distribution system was inefficient” as BlackBerry devices weren’t exactly in high demand.
For T-Mobile customers who are looking to get BlackBerry devices from T-Mobile, they will still be available for purchase online although with the carrier dropping BlackBerry from its retail stores, we expect it might be a matter of time before support is dropped altogether. As it stands BlackBerry is looking to be bought out and hopes to be taken private to sort out their problems. Fairfax Financial is a likely candidate as BlackBerry has signed a letter of intent with the company worth $4.7 billion. At this rate will we see other carriers drop their support for BlackBerry as well?
