Sony Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition Unveiled
Earlier this year Sony unveiled the Xperia Tablet Z, a sleek and surprisingly well-constructed Android tablet, but it looks like Sony has decided that the tablet needs an update in the form of a kitchen version. Yup you heard that right, Sony has decided to launch a kitchen version of the Xperia Tablet Z. The difference between the kitchen edition Xperia Tablet Z and the regular Xperia Tablet Z is that the kitchen edition will come with a stand that allows for it to be propped up on the kitchen counter, presumably for you to look at recipes while you cook. It will obviously come with pre-loaded recipes from the Saveur magazine along with an iGrill digital wireless meat thermometer.
Priced at $650, the tablet will come with 32GB of onboard storage, but apart from that we expect the hardware will remain exactly the same. This means customers can look forward to a 10” Full HD 1920×1200 display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM, a 6,000mAh battery, although we’re not sure if Sony has bothered to update the version of Android that came default with the tablet back in May this year. Sony is not the first company to launch a tablet aimed at cooks as earlier this year, Archos unveiled the ChefPad which was a tablet designed for similar purposes.
