It was this past April when the folks behind SnapChat announced its users were sending a total of 150 million photos per day, which we’re sure many of those using the service are sharing only the finest and family-friendly images that need to self destruct in 5 seconds. Nearly 5 months later, SnapChat is making another announcement as to how many “snaps” are being sent per day. This time, their snaps per day has grown to a total of 350 million. That means in just 5 months, SnapChat has achieved 200 million snaps, which is quite the achievement.
SnapChat’s continued growth is also impressive considering social-networking giant Facebook attempted to get in on the action when they released Poke back in December. “It’s certainly scary when a giant enters your space,” SnapChat CEO Evan Spiegel said during his interview. “We now talk about it as the greatest Christmas present we ever got.”
SnapChat’s growth will certainly continue judging by its current rate, although considering they’ve also released a version of their application on the Galaxy Gear, we have no doubt the amount of snaps that are shared every day will continue to grow and grow. Now if only SnapChat would pay a little attention towards Windows Phone 8 devices.
