Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Will Charge, Transfer Data Faster Thanks To USB 3.0

Now that the dust has settled over Samsung’s introduction of its Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Gear, you should expect to hear more about each device in the next couple of days. Today, we’re hearing some interesting news in regards to the Galaxy Note 3 and how you interact with it.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the first device in their stable of smartphones to finally have USB 3.0 connectivity, allowing users to be able to transfer data between their Note 3 and their USB 3.0-enabled computer at a much faster rate. This is certainly a step in the right direction, especially if you’re the kind of person who likes to transfer a large amount of data to your smartphone on a semi-regular basis.

Aside from faster transfer rates, USB 3.0 support will also allow for the Galaxy Note 3 to charge at a faster rate of 900mA, which is nearly double the speed of USB 2.0’s output current, which is 500mA. When you factor in the Galaxy Note 3 has a larger 3,200mAh battery, we have high hopes users will be able to get their device charged in a record-breaking pace, so long as they’re using a USB 3.0 port to charge it.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be released around the world starting on September 25.
