I guess this is more or less the rule of thumb these days – it always pays to get the proper certification in place if you want everything to run as smoothly as possible without any hiccups. We are well aware that the upcoming Nexus 7 with LTE support is more than good to go on a couple of mobile carriers in the US – namely T-Mobile and AT&T. Needless to say, there is one particular question that begs to be asked, what about Verizon Wireless? Well, while the Nexus 7 with LTE support is compatible with Verizon’s LTE network on technical grounds, there is one major reason why this particular device has yet to be activated on Verizon, which would be the lack of proper certification.
According to a representative over at Verizon, “This is not yet a device that is Verizon 4G LTE certified. As you know, when devices are certified, we’ll let folks know.” This does seem to point in the general direction that certification for the device will occur sometime down the road, but as to the exact date of this certification being approved remains to be seen. All in all, we do not think that Verizon would want this matter to drag out for too long considering how the Nexus 7 with LTE could be a hot ticket item.
