Just a few months ago, we heard Amazon was in the process of updating its Kindle Fire tablets to receive improved displays and a slightly tweaked design. Shortly after the report was published, Amazon cut the price of its Kindle Fire HD by $40, which lead many to believe a new version was going to be announced sooner than later. It looks like we might finally be hearing about the next Kindle Fire HD as BGR is claiming it has secured images of what it believes to be Amazon’s next tablet.
The images BGR obtained are supposedly of the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD, although changes seen on the 7-inch tablet are expected to carry over to the 8.9 model. The new design of the Kindle Fire HD will bring new buttons that are said to be easier to use than their predecessors, Dolby stereo speakers and improvements to its screen resolution. According to the report, the 7-inch Kindle Fire will come with a 1920 x 1200 display, while the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire will come with a 2560 x 1600 pixel display. As for their CPUs, both Kindle Fire tablets will be the first devices that will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip which is expected to be running at 2GHz.
