Earlier this month Google took the wraps off their new Android build, Android 4.4 KitKat, and during the unveiling of the faux chocolate statue, a mysterious device was spotted and was rumored to be the Nexus 5. Last we heard the Nexus 5 along with Android 4.4 was pegged for an October release and it turns out that the October release date might actually be pretty true after all. This is thanks to a photo posted by Nestle on their Kit Kat Facebook page (pictured above) where according to the message (after it was Google Translated), it reads that Android 4.4 KitKat is available starting from October.
The message on the Facebook page has since been changed and we’re not sure why. Perhaps Nestle jumped the gun on outing the release date of the software, or because they might have gotten it wrong themselves. Either way an October release is not entirely out of the question, especially since previous Nexus devices with the latest Android operating systems have typically been released around this time of the year anyway. In any case we’ll definitely keep our eyes peeled for more info so stay tuned but with October not too far off, we guess we won’t have to wait too long to see if the rumors pan out!
