Microsoft Surface 2 And Surface Pro 2 Tablets Can Be Reserved In-Store For Free
It was just last week that Microsoft took the wraps off their new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets. Both devices are expected to see a release on the 22nd of October and Microsoft has since been taking pre-orders via its website as well as through it retail stores. Well the good news is that if you wanted to pre-order the tablet but weren’t willing to pay full price for it yet, it seems that Microsoft is now allowing customers to walk into their stores and reserver a Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 tablet for themselves without having to pay anything for it, at least until the device arrives and they have to pay for it in order to take it home.
Microsoft has yet to make such an announcement, but according to the folks at Windows Phone Central, they have confirmed this via a tip from a Microsoft retail store employee, as well as by calling other Microsoft stores in Southern California to double check. Previously pre-orders could be made at a local store but you’d have to put down $50 as a deposit of sorts to reserve the device. In any case if you wanted the tablet but do not have the money yet, we guess this could be one of the ways to go about reserving one for yourself until either device has been released.
