LG Debuts 77″ Ultra HD Curved OLED Display

When it comes to display technology, both Samsung and LG seem to be trying to outdo one another, which we guess from a consumer point of view is a great thing as both companies will seek to offer bigger and better products. At IFA 2013 in Berlin, LG has decided to unveil what they are calling the world’s largest ultra HD OLED television which sports a 77” curved OLED display. This is a follow-up to the company’s 55” curved OLED television which they debuted at CES 2013 earlier this year.

According to Havis Kwon, president and CEO of LG Home Entertainment Company, “LG was proud to be the first company to commercially launch an OLED TV and we are once again setting our sights high with the ULTRA HD CURVED OLED TV […] This 77-inch TV is proof that we will never stop pushing the boundaries and exploring new possibilities.” At the moment this device seems more of a concept rather than a product that can be purchased, although given that its 55” sibling was pegged at a whopping $15,000, we’d hate to think how much this 77” monster will cost.
