iPhone 5s Battery Found To Be 10% Larger Than iPhone 5
Usually during Apple’s presentation of their new iPhones, boasting battery capacity and efficiency is usually on the to-do list, although interestingly during the iPhone 5s presentation, battery life was not really a subject that was touched on. In any case if you were looking forward to getting your hands on the new iPhone 5s but were wondering if its battery life is better or similar to the iPhone 5, well it turns out that it is better, albeit marginally at 10%. This is according to AnandTech who dug around the FCC filings and discovered that the iPhone 5s packs a 1,570mAh battery.
Their digging has also uncovered the iPhone 5c’s is about 5% larger than the iPhone 5 at 1,507mAh. Of course we expect that some real world testing will need to be done to determine if the 10% gain makes any difference, or if the newer A7 processor’s power consumption will offset the difference in battery size. However given that the iPhone 5s also comes with an M7 coprocessor, perhaps that will be able to handles some of the tasks and take some pressure of the A7, which in theory should help with battery efficiency. In any case we expect we will find out in our own review of the device, so stay tuned for more updates!
