Its not like there haven’t been a barrage of rumors about the design and dimensions of iPad 5. There have been plenty of rumors, but today purported iPad 5 schematics, that have been provided to case makers, have appeared online and they hint at the tablet’s design and dimensions. The tablet is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor and have thinner bezels. The schematics match the appearance of multiple iPad 5 components that have leaked over the past few months.
It has been consistently rumored that iPad 5 will look a lot like the iPad mini. This possibility has been reiterated by leaked components as well. As far as the dimensions are concerned, these schematics hint that iPad 5 will shave off more than 15 millimeters from the width of the existing iPad, and come in at around 169.48 millimeters wide. A nominal change in height is expected as well, with iPad 5 coming in at 240 millimeters as opposed to 241.3 millimeters on the iPad 4. It is widely believed that iPad 5 will be a lot thinner than its predecessor, these schematics agree, they display a 2 millimeter reduction in width, coming down from 9.55 millimeters to just 7.5 millimeters on the iPad 5. Since these schematics have leaked from an unofficial source, their authenticity can not be guaranteed. Though its interesting to note that what they claim is in line with all of the rumors we’ve heard about the upcoming Apple tablet. Apple is expected to unveil the iPad 5 next month.
