Google unveiled its QuickOffice for iOS and Android devices along with Drive support last year, allowing those on the go to be able to create and edit documents until they’re blue in the face. Unfortunately, QuickOffice comes at a price as Google requires a subscription to its Google Apps services in order to use the application on supporting devices, but that changes today as the company is announcing it’s making QuickOffice available for free.
Google announced QuickOffice would be going free earlier today, which of course means you no longer have to be a subscriber to their Google Apps service. All you have to do is own an iOS or Android device, have an insatiable urge to edit documents on the go and probably some fingers to make the whole experience a little easier.
In addition to making QuickOffice available for free, Google is also providing an additional 10GB of Google Drive storage that is good for 24 months, as long as you download and sign into the application prior to September 26. Even if you don’t need a service like QuickOffice on your mobile device, you should probably check it out anyways if only to receive that sweet bonus of an additional 10GB of Google Drive storage.
