Given that we are in the month of October which was when the previous Nexus handset was revealed, we have started to see many Nexus 5-related rumors, and if you were wondering about the handset’s official specifications, Myce.com has allegedly gotten their hands on a log from the Nexus 5, which was then dug through by the folks at AndroidWorld and according to what they found, we may very well have the official specifications of the device.
Based on their findings, it seems that we might be able to expect a handset with a 5” Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset that is accompanied by 2GB of RAM. These specifications aren’t too surprising given that a Full HD and quad-core smartphone is pretty much commonplace these days. However what is interesting is the fact that the phone will only sport an 8MP rear-facing camera. Granted megapixels don’t necessarily determine a camera’s quality, but we thought that perhaps Google might want to bring it on par with other high-end Android devices.
The handset also appears to be running on Android 4.4 KitKat, no surprises there, and is also expected to feature a 1.2MP front-facing camera, 16GB of onboard storage, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, and a 2,300mAh battery. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully the 14th October launch date is true which means we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out!
