Battlefield 4 PC Beta Will Only Support 64-Bit Machines

The Battlefield 4 beta will be launching on October 1 on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, although if you’re a PC gamer who is counting down the days, hours and minutes until the beta is available for you to play, you might want to make sure you’re running a 64-bit system.

DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson took to the official Battlefield blog to announce the Battlefield 4 beta will only be open to 64-bit Windows PCs in order to further test that particular version of the game. This doesn’t mean Battlefield 4 won’t run on 32-bit systems as the full version of the game will run on both 32- and 64-bit systems.

If you want to take part in the Battlefield 4 beta and don’t have a 64-bit Windows PC, then we recommend you spend your weekend preparing your machine for the beta, that is, unless you want to be left out to play the 32-bit version of Battlefield 4 when it releases. Or you could always try to get in on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Battlefield 4 beta, but if you’re a die-hard PC gamer, we’re pretty sure not only do you not own either of these consoles, but also forbid any of your friends from owning them either.
