Two new affordable Android tablets have been announced today by ASUS. The MeMo Pad 8 and the MeMo Pad 10. The product names aptly describe their display sizes, the MeMo Pad 8 has an eight inch display while the other one has a 10 inch display. Both IPS displays offer 1,280×800 pixel resolution, quadcore processors and external memory expansion via microSD cards. Both tablets also have high-quality dual speakers with ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.
MeMO Pad 8 has a 5 megapixel rear camera while the MeMO Pad 10 has a 2 megapixel at the back. Both models are capable of capturing 720p HD video and have a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video chat. With 1.6GHz quadcore processors beating at the core, MeMO Pad 8 offers up to nine hours of battery life with HD video playback and MeMO Pad 10 up to 9.5 hours. The 8 inch tablet has 8GB of storage on-board whereas the MeMO Pad 10 is available in 8GB and 16GB flavors. They’ll be available in white, grey and pink colors. ASUS is also offering an optional protective TriCover case for these tablets which is made from synthetic materials that protects both the back and screen. TriCover also has a folding cover that props the screen at an angle for on-screen typing, etc. ASUS hasn’t revealed the price of these tablets, that information will come at a later date.
