Apple’s iPhone Transport Process Gets Detailed

Come 20^th of September, Apple will be releasing the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to a number of different countries around the world, and presumably they will be shipping millions of iPhones. So how is it that with such a high profile device, especially when numbered in the millions, manages to make its way across countries without being noticed? Well according to the folks at Bloomberg, they have managed to get an insider look on how the entire process is handled.

“The process starts in China, where pallets of iPhones are moved from factories in unmarked containers accompanied by a security detail. The containers are then loaded onto trucks and shipped via pre-bought airfreight space, including on old Russian military transports. The journey ends in stores where the world’s biggest technology company makes constant adjustments based on demand, said people who have worked on Apple’s logistics and asked not to be identified because the process is secret.”

Indeed it sounds like quite a secretive, and almost military-like operation! The process was reportedly designed by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. If anything it is pretty impressive how Apple manages all of that but what do you guys think? Do you reckon other tech giants such as Samsung operates in a similar manner?
