Parents if you’ve always wanted a specific section within the iTunes App Store just for kids so that you won’t have to wade through potentially adult apps before arriving at something kid appropriate, you’re in luck as Apple has finally launched a Kids category within the iTunes App Store. The category was announced back in WWDC 2013 earlier this year, but now parents will be able to access it through the App Store. This section has been designed specifically for children and parents in mind, and will come with certain restrictions that should make it harder for children to accidentally rack up thousands of dollars in in-app purchases.

The apps are curated for kids and will be categorized according to what they do, such as “Create & Play”, “Shapes & Colors”, and etc. Developers who create apps for kids also need to adhere to new guidelines which prohibits them from using behavioral advertising, and are required to comply with children privacy statutes in order to collect certain personal information about children, if the app requires it.
