It turns out that the tool proved to be a pretty big success and according to Microsoft’s Bryan Tomlinson, the usage of the tool saw the creation of 30,000 or so projects within the first 48 hours of its launch, so much so that Microsoft had to begin throttling usage due to the unexpected demand. This is a pretty big deal because it means that now more people have access to create apps that they have only been envisioning in their heads.
The tool provides budding developers with tutorials and allows them to create apps with a few clicks, choose a template, and will finally compile it and provide the developer with the source code they need should they wish to tweak it further if they know what they’re doing. We can only imagine that this will ultimately result in more apps created for Windows Phone, although we could be looking at quantity for now, and not necessarily quality, but it’s better than nothing, right?
