The first alleged press shots of Verizon LG Enact were leaked last month, since then we’ve been hearing rumors that the Big Red would be launching this QWERTY slider smartphone soon. A couple of days ago yet another press shot of this device was leaked. it was said that Verizon would make the announcement very soon, indeed it has. Verizon LG Enact was officially announced today. The smartphone is now available for $19.99 with a two year contract. If you don’t fancy being tied to Verizon for two years, it can be picked up for $349.99 up front.
QWERTY smartphones aren’t as popular as they used to be, most manufacturers have shunned keyboards altogether. The Enact is a decent mid-range Android smartphone. It has a 4 inch 800×480 pixel resolution display, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, a 5 megapixel rear camera, 8GB of on-board storage and support for microSD cards. It runs a skinned version of Android 4.1. The Enact kicks up some nostalgia by touting four navigation buttons up front, this used to be the norm with Gingerbread devices back in the day. It has a beefy 2,460mAh battery that should provide adequate power for daily usage. LG Enact is available right away from Verizon’s online store, the smartphone will become available in retail stores soon.
