Sony A3000 (ILC-3000) Rumored To Cost £300 For Body-Only

SLT-A99_wSAL2470Z_1-1024x768The other day we reported on rumors that Sony could be looking to launch an entry-level E-mount camera under the A3000 moniker, or ILC-3000 as it could be known in other parts of the world. So how much are we talk about when we mean entry-level? Well according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, they have received a tip in which the A3000 has been revealed to cost around 300 GBP for the body-only, which we have to say isn’t too bad. There will also be a version where it will come bundled with a kit 18-55mm lens but no word on how much that could cost.

So far based on what we know, the A3000 is rumored to sport a 20MP sensor and its design is reminiscent of Sony’s SLT cameras, but instead it will sport Sony’s E-mount and will apparently be the first E-mount camera to not be part of Sony’s NEX lineup of cameras. Additional information has suggested that the EVF of the A3000 will be only 200k, and that it will only sport a contrast AF system versus fast PDAF, but then again this is a camera aimed at beginners, so we guess Sony skipped on the fancy features and focused on price. There is a good chance the A3000 could see an announcement in August/September as per the rumors, so check back with us at a later date for more info!
