Solar-Powered Jet Ski Created To Help Lifeguards Save Lives

If you’re planning on riding a jet ski, chances are that it’s going to be a sunny day, which is why we don’t understand why nobody would create a solar-powered jet ski, especially since they tend to guzzle up gas at an exceptionally high rate. British designer Ross Kemp has come up with an alternative vehicle to jet skis and powered surfboards that runs on the power of the sun.

Ross Kemp’s ASAP is an electric jet-ski like vehicle that was created as an affordable tool for lifeguards and other similar rescuers to help them make their way through the water in order for them to get where they need to be. The ASAP currently can hit a top speed of 15 miles per hour, although future commercial-ready version are said to be capable of higher top speeds, that is, if its battery isn’t a concern.

Once Kemp is able to finalize the ASAP’s design, he plans to introduce the vehicle as a cheaper alternative to jet skis, especially considering how much less noise it makes compared to a jet ski. Of course, it all comes at the cost of speed, but that probably isn’t as big of a concern as most people make it out to be.
