Samsung’s 2014 Flagship Smartphone Rumored To Sport 16MP Sensor With OIS

As it stands, the Samsung Galaxy S4 sports a 13MP camera on the back. The Galaxy S4 Zoom on the other hand has a whopping 16MP camera, but then again megapixels aren’t everything despite what marketers want us to believe, but with that being said, what sort of camera can we expect on a flagship Samsung smartphone next year? Well according to a new report, it seems that Samsung’s flagship smartphone in 2014 is expected to sport a 16MP camera, which we can only assume points towards the Galaxy S5, or whatever Samsung plans to call it.

While 16MP might seem a little “disappointing” given that the upcoming Sony Honami is said to feature a 20MP camera, this sensor that is being developed by Samsung will come with optical image stabilization as well, which should help with the quality of the images captured. Unfortunately this alleged sensor with OIS is also rumored to not be making its debut in the Galaxy Note 3 apparently due to Samsung not being able to get enough sensors in time.

The Galaxy S4 is no slouch when it comes to taking great photos, so we can only imagine what sort of images can be captured with a 16MP sensor with built-in OIS. In any case we’re not sure if it’s too early for Galaxy S5 rumors, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
