Samsung Galaxy Golden Could Be New Android Flip Phone

Samsung did introduce the flip phone form factor that ran on the Android operating system in China sometime last year, where it was known as the Samsung SCH-W2013 if model numbers your cup of tea. The thing is, flip phones more or less lost out in the popularity race among smartphones for quite some time now, since one of the main drawbacks would be the screen size, or rather, the lack of it. Perhaps things might change for the better with the Samsung Galaxy Golden? Granted, it looks exactly the same (to me anyways, unless I might have missed something out) as the Samsung SCH-W2013 that was revealed in China last year, but perhaps it might be on its way for a global rollout?

The Samsung Galaxy Folder (aka Samsung SHV-E400 or SHV-E700) will merge an Android and T9 keyboard, in addition to carrying a 3.7” 480 x 800 WVGA display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. Oh yeah, there is also another display for you to use when the phone’s flipped down. It seems that this will be a South Korea only release, but who knows, there might be a global rollout as asked earlier?
