While social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are great places to brag about your meal, your accomplishments, your new purchases, and etc., there are times when one should draw the line, especially when it comes to bragging about committing a crime. We have seen it happen plenty of times in the past where a criminal bragged about their crime on a social network which led to their arrest, and in the latest case, a rapper who goes by the stage name of Neno Best (real name Matthew Best), bragged about selling guns on his Instagram account.
Best posted photos and videos of a variety of guns on his Instagram account, along with photos of stacks of cash which presumably were made from selling the guns. The photos were taken down later, but not before they were noticed by the NYPD’s narcotics investigators, who then passed the information to undercover officers which led to Best’s arrest and the discovery of a multi-state gun trafficking ring. According to the NYPD, they have managed to seized 243 handguns, nine rifles, and two shotguns, with some of them having been reported as stolen in the past.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being handled by the NYPD, the Manhattan district attorney, and the city’s office of special narcotics prosecutor.
