Here we are with yet another digital camera from the folks over at Nikon, and this time around it would be the Nikon Coolpix S6600 which would come under our scrutiny. The Nikon Coolpix S6600 happens to be a compact camera which delivers high-power zoom and a vari-angle monitor which allows one to shoot from virtually any angle. In fact, it happens to be the first of the Coolpix S-series models that comes with said vari-angle monitor.
Apart from that, it will also come with a Gesture Control function which would enable one to control the camera remotely, letting you snap self-portraits simply by moving your hand. Arriving with a backside illumination CMOS image sensor that has an effective pixel count of 16-megapixels, you end up with very little noise even at high sensitivities, accompanied by a lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function, and a 12x optical zoom NIKKOR lens. Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to easily transfer images to smart devices including smartphones and tablets.
Other than that, the Nikon Coolpix S6600 does Full HD video recording that is more or less a given in this day and age, so it is nice to see that function included, too. No idea on how much will it cost when it arrives though. [Press Release]
