MSI is no stranger to gaming notebooks in the past, and here we are with yet another model that looks set to burn up benchmark scores – with the MSI GS70, which has been touted by MSI to be the “world’s thinnest and lightest” 17-inch gaming notebook, where it was specially designed in order to fuse the power required so that it can tackle even the most demanding games, without sacrificing on portability. Of course, anything that is 17” in my opinion is not going to cut the mustard should it be used as your showfloor coverage device – that is what Ultrabooks and the MacBook Air are for. This, our dear readers, is meant to let you get your gaming fix on the go – without feeling too homesick for your souped up rig.
The MSI GS70 will feature the latest 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor underneath the hood, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M graphics card, 16GB RAM, a quartet of USB 3.0 ports, a 720p HD webcam, Killer DoubleShot NIC, a 17” Full HD anti-reflective display, a 2.1 speaker system, and a SteelSeries full color backlit keyboard with Anti-Ghosting keys. Not only that, the entire shebang measures under 1” thin, tipping the scales at a mere 5.7 lbs. Before the days of the Ultrabook and MacBook Air, this would’ve been a modern miracle, but right now, it is a notch lower – just an exceptionally constructed gaming laptop. Expect it to start from $1,799.99 onwards, there will be two configurations to choose from. [Press Release] and [Product Page]
