LG has an event scheduled for tomorrow in New York where it will be unveiling the hotly anticipated G2 smartphone. We’ve seen numerous leaks of the device, LG itself has posted a video teaser so as to get the hype going prior to the official announcement. It is not known right now exactly how long it would take for the smartphone to reach stores after it is announced tomorrow. South Korean publication MK News claims that LG might make its latest flagship device available in South Korea on the very day of the launch.
Technically, due to the time difference between New York and South Korea, the G2 would be launched there on August 8th. The publication doesn’t offer any clues regarding the U.S. release of this smartphone. Recent rumors suggest that as many as 100 worldwide carriers may offer this smartphone by October. The LG G2 is expected to have a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5.2 inch full HD 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel rear camera. One of the much rumored features of this smartphone is said to be its fingerprint sensor, LG itself has hinted at that possibility.
