When the LG G2 was announced officially earlier this week, some confusion about the situation arose – where selected sources pointed to a 2,610mAh battery, while there was another camp that claimed the new flagship device to come with a larger 3,000mAh battery. Of course, there were also additional disputes and debates going on, when some LG documents as well as white papers of the device began to tout a microSD memory card slot – something that was missing on the LG G2 which was seen and handled at the New York City launch.
It seems that there are two sides to a story most of the time, and in the unboxing video that you can see by South Korean UnderKG, it seems that all the confusion stemmed from another unannounced variant of the handset – which happens to be the South Korea-bound LG G2, which carries different hardware specifications compared to the one that was unveiled. The LG G2 which was unboxed comes with the smaller 2,160mAh battery that happens to be a Li-Ion battery. The reason behind this? The battery ends up as removable, and you can swap it with a full battery whenever it starts to run low. Not only that, there is also a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and the inclusion of these two “features” would mean a slight change in dimensions compared to the international LG G2, making it 0.24mm thicker.
