If we look at the previous iPhone models that have come with the “S” moniker attached, we can see that Apple doesn’t really make any design changes. The company releases such models with improvements under the hood. The iPhone 5S is expected to get similar treatment this time around, with majority of the rumored improvements being made to internal components. We had heard rumors before that perhaps Apple might opt for a larger display for the iPhone 5S, but a latest rumor suggests that the device’s dimensions will remain similar to the iPhone 5, thus making chances of a larger display look slim. However, the same source claims that iPhone 5S is going to be slightly heavier than its predecessor, because it apparently has a bigger battery.
The same aluminium construction used for iPhone 5 has been slated for iPhone 5S as well. Dimensions are reportedly similar as well, the iPhone 5 is 7.6mm x 123.8mm x 58.6mm. The fact that these figures are not expected to differ significantly hint that no radical changes are going to be made. Apparently the iPhone 5S battery is of a higher capacity which is likely to make the device slightly heavier than its predecessor. Though there’s no way to confirm this right now, we only have this rumor to rely on, which doesn’t reveal the exact figure of the battery’s capacity. Apple’s iPhone 5S unveil event is expected to take place on September 10th, as per this rumor, the device might become available in the U.S. late next month.
