If you are looking forward to getting your hands on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, you might have heard that the game was pegged for an official release on the 27th of August. However it seems that during the game’s early access weekend, their servers experienced a lot of issues which has many gamers wondering if come 27th of August, will these issues be addressed or will they be unable to log in as well?
Naturally fans weren’t too happy about the server issues, especially given that this game is a “rebirth” of the original game which was shut down due to the numerous issues plaguing it, and having these server issues pop up certainly is not a great way to kick things off. To that extent the game’s director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, issued an apology on the game’s forums.
The maximum expected population limit is nearing for each World, and unless the current World simultaneous connection amount decreases, we are unable to open release the limitation.
In case we do release the limitation, there is a high chance that the corresponding World will crash or cause issues, and we are thinking that it will be difficult for us to release it for a while. We please ask you to consider playing in a World that has a low limitation.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask to continue with your cooperation.
It should be noted that server issues are pretty common with online games, especially during its launch. We’re sure gamers can recall the number of issues that Blizzard’s Diablo 3 ran into at the start, which was worse since some players wanted to play single-player, but due to the way the game was made, it required an internet connection. In any case hopefully Square Enix will be able to sort this out soon, but if you do run into any issues on the 27th of August, just remain patient!
