FIFA 14 is headed to pretty much every video game platform known to man next month, with many soccer (or football) fans to countdown when the next iteration of EA’s popular franchise will be made available. FIFA 14 will introduce a number of improvements over the previous version, although if you’re planning on purchasing the game on the PS Vita, you may want to hold off considering it’s been uncovered the game will just be a re-skin of FIFA 13.
The news of FIFA 14 being a re-skin of FIFA 13 came from a confirmation by EA to Pocket Gamer after EA Sports’ David Rutter commented on the Vita version of the game at this year’s Gamescom. Rutter said FIFA 14 on the Vita will offer the “same great gameplay” when compared to last year’s version, also saying “it’s the same great gameplay. And obviously with any new kits.”
This isn’t the first time EA has re-skinned an older version of FIFA to pass off as a brand-new version, but considering the effort Sony is putting behind its Vita, especially with its new price drop, you would think EA would try to help sell its game by actually implementing the new features of the console version into the Vita version.
