Earlier this year Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Mega smartphone series, of the devices in this series has a massive 6.3 inch display. Back then it was not known which U.S. based carrier will pick up devices from this series. Rumor has it though that Galaxy Mega 6.3 might be making its way to AT&T. The infamous leaker based on Twitter, @evleaks, has posted a purported press shot of the AT&T Galaxy Mega 6.3. This particular source has a pretty solid track record. He hasn’t mentioned anything about the release date just yet, AT&T is naturally tight-lipped about its upcoming smartphones.
Touting a 6.3 inch 1280×720 pixel resolution display, the Galaxy Mega can be considered as a cost-effective alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of phablets. The international version of Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a 1.7GHz dualcore processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. 8GB and 16GB storage models are offered with the ability to expand memory through microSD cards. No information has been offered as yet on the possibility of AT&T’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 variant having slightly different specifications than the international version, which was released back in April. It will be interesting to see in which price bracket AT&T puts this device, given how Samsung’s flagship Galaxy Note 3 is coming out soon, which is likely to command consumer interest once it is released.
