Acer Liquid Z3 Android Smartphone Announced
Acer is probably best known for the computers and tablets, and while the company has in the past dabbled in smartphones, safe to say they aren’t exactly selling like hot cakes, but it seems that now Acer is turning their attention towards the Android platform and have officially announced the Acer Liquid Z3. We’re not sure why Acer has chosen to launch the Liquid Z3, especially with its basic specs which pales in comparison to higher-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, and Sony Xperia Z, but perhaps Acer is looking to capture the low-end market although it’s safe to say that there are many competitors in that segment as well.
The Liquid Z3 will sport a 3.5” display with a 1GHz dual-core processor whose manufacturer is unknown. It will also come with 4GB of onboard storage and a 3MP rear-facing camera, and it seems that the Liquid Z3 will come in a dual-SIM version as well which will make it great for those who travel frequently or who have multiple lines they need to juggle. To help set it apart from other Android phones, the Liquid Z3 will come with several preset modes, each offering a different set of functions, such as Basic Mode, Senior Mode, Classic Mode, and Keypad Mode.
Expected to launch mid-August across Europe, the handset will be priced at 99 EUR (~$132), although no word on whether it will be making its way stateside.
