While Acer might be known for their Windows tablets and attempts at Windows Phone devices, the company has recently been attempting Android devices of their own, such as the recently announced Acer Liquid Z3 and the Liquid S1 phablet that revealed back in June. While the Liquid S1 phablet has yet to catch on in a big way, it seems that Acer has already been planning its successor and thanks to a recently leaked roadmap, it has been revealed that a certain Acer Liquid S2 could be launched in August.
According to the alleged specs of the Acer Liquid S2, it looks like another phablet device that Acer has up their sleeves. The Liquid S2, based on the leaked roadmap, will sport a 5.98” Full HD IPS display with 16GB of onboard storage, 2GB of RAM, and will be powered by a 2.3GHz processor although its manufacturer remains unknown. The phone is also expected to sport NFC connectivity and while presumably it will run on Android, the roadmap mentions a certain “K OS” which some have taken to mean Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
We’re not sure if the August 2013 launch is accurate, especially since it’s been about two months since the S1 was introduced, but then again there’s not telling if this roadmap is genuine to begin with, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
