It was a certain Justin Angel who discovered the files that are related to a 1080p Windows Phone emulator, where it enables developers to run a virtual version of Windows Phone while testing out their apps and games. In the previous Visual Studio experience, it only came with emulator skins for currently supported Windows Phone resolutions, including WVGA (800 x 480), 720p (1280 x 720) and WXGA (1280 x 768), so to see a 1080p (1920 x 1080) skin thrown into the mix is more or less a dead giveaway of what is to come. Needless to say, OEMs will still need to do their part and roll out the relevant hardware to match the upcoming software.
