Having released the public preview a little over a week ago, Microsoft today announced that Bing ads will be incorporated in Windows 8.1 Smart Search. Its a tool that users can use to search for anything on the web, on their device, apps or the cloud. From the results users are able to browse, launch, play and view, making it easier for them to quickly accomplish various tasks. David Pann, GM at Microsoft’s Advertising Search Group, said in a blog post today that Bing ads are going to be an “integral part” of Windows 8.1 Smart Search.
The Bing ads that show up in the results will also include web previews of websites. Site links, locations and call extensions will be displayed as well, making it easier for the users to get relevant information about that ad swiftly, as well as ensuring that advertisers drive quality leads towards their business. Microsoft believes that this evolution of search will be more “beautiful as well as functional,” and that they will continue to innovate with Bing ads based on customer and advertiser feedback. Advertisers campaigns already participating on Yahoo Bing Network will be eligible for Bing ads in Windows 8.1 Smart Search without any additional setup.
