Microsoft officially unveiled a number of changes it plans to make when Windows 8.1 is released, but in the meantime, they have allowed the everyday Windows user to check out a preview version of Windows 8.1. As a result of Microsoft releasing its preview version of Windows 8.1, they have released the update’s first set of bug fixes in less than a week since its debut.
The update to the Windows 8.1 preview version brings six updates that address a number of different issues, two of those issues are rated as “important” while the remaining four are just listed as “recommended.” One of the important updates is for Windows Defender as Microsoft updates its virus definitions, while the other update improves compatibility with a number of third-party programs.
The additional recommended updates addresses a number of issues such as fixing a problem where users would have Windows Store apps crash when launched, while another update simply says it “improves the robustness of data files in Windows 8.1.” The last two updates fixes issues Google account holders had when signing in through certain applications and issues that kept Internet Explorer 11 users from resuming file downloads.
