t-mobile-jump-plan

T-Mobile has already sent out invitations for a press event it has scheduled for today. While many believed that the carrier was going to announce new devices at this event, it has also been rumored that we might be seeing some new plans as well. In an ad T-Mobile ran recently, the carrier taunted AT&T’s increase in iPhone upgrade eligibility to 24 months. Rumor has it that T-Mobile today will unveil a new ‘Jump’ device upgrade plan, which will allow customers to upgrade their device when they “actually want to.”

Both AT&T and Verizon recently increased upgrade qualification times for customers. If a current customer wants to change their device before 24 months, they will have to pay the full unsubsidized price of that device. The ‘Jump’ plan would allow customers to upgrade whenever they want, they will pay what a new customer would pay for a device. It is said that there might be a monthly fee involved with this plans and customers might have to trade-in their current devices to be eligible for at-will upgrades. T-Mobile’s “boldest moves yet‘ event kicks off today on 2:30 PM ET, we’ll be sure to bring you all of the details from the event. [Image via The Verge]
