A few days ago T-Mobile announced at its event that their 4G LTE network now connects over 116 cities and covers around 157 million people. The network actually had a goal to cover 100 million people half-way through 2013, they have achieved that goal with quite a bit of margin. T-Mobile had also announced that it would be rolling out a software update for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 owners to bring them on its LTE network. They’ve rolled out an over-the-air update today which activates LTE on T-Mobile branded Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 units.

Those who are looking to install this update will have to make sure that their tablets are not rooted. The update is based on Android 4.1.2 and doesn’t bring any major new features apart from enabling LTE. T-Mobile is rolling out this update in waves, the entire process is going to be completed by July 19th. If you haven’t received an update notification yet, the tablet can alternatively be updated through Samsung Kies. The file size of this update is 69.8MB. A stable data connection and 50 percent battery life are required to go through with the installation process.
