As we’re sure many of you guys are aware, Samsung is probably the biggest name when it comes to Android, having spawned countless successful Android devices like the Galaxy S range, and the Galaxy Note phablets which helped spark a new trend in the mobile phone market. It seems that Elop and Nokia recognized Samsung’s potential to dominate the market and according to him, “We had a suspicion of who it might be, because of the resources available, the vertical integration, and we were respectful of the fact that we were quite late in making that decision. Many others were in that space already.”
Of course Windows Phone is still hardly where Microsoft had hoped it would be, but a recent report has suggested that Nokia has managed to outsell BlackBerry last quarter, which could at the very least help Windows Phone place third instead of fourth.
