Samsung Galaxy Folder Rolls Back The Years
I am sure that many of the younger generation kids would not have fathomed an age where phones came in 2” displays or smaller, and a touchscreen was not possible, while always on data connectivity is but a pipe dream. Having said that, there was also a time where the clamshell form factor for mobile phones proved to be extremely popular, with Motorola’s RAZR design leading the way back then. Well, Samsung too, has had their fair share of flip phones in their past portfolio, and it seems that the South Korean conglomerate wants to pay a visit to the past by rolling out what they call the Samsung Galaxy Folder.
As its name suggests, this is a clamshell form factor handset, boasting a 480 x 800 WVGA display and it will run on a dual-core Snapdragon S4 SoC. When it arrives, you will find Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running on it right out of the box, which means there should not be any wait for an operating system update. Still, the Galaxy Folder is tipped to be a low end model, so get this only for a nostalgic kick with a modern day operating system in tow to keep up with the times.
