nokia-lumia-520The other day thanks to research conducted by AdDuplex, it was found that Nokia’s Lumia 520 proved to be the most popular Windows Phone device out of all of them. Now thanks to a tweet by Kantar Worldpanel, it seems that their own research is supporting it and according to them, the Lumia 520 has helped Nokia achieve their highest market share in the UK smartphone market since April 2011. Based on previous numbers, Nokia’s Symbian platform had an 11.4% market share in the UK back in March of 2011, followed by a dip to 10.7% in June, indicating that based on this tweet, the Lumia 520 may have very well elevated Nokia’s market share above 10% since 2011, although exactly by how much remains to be seen.  The Symbian market share is currently sitting at 0.1% market share so it would seem that Nokia’s bet with Windows Phone has definitely paid off, although at the moment it still seems to be sitting behind with Android and iOS, but who knows one day we could see Windows Phone start catching up and give either platform a run for their money!
