If you’re a Nokia Lumia user, you’ll be happy to hear the company has recently announced some pretty big improvements will be made to your device through a future software update that will certainly help improve its battery life.
During an event held in Hong Kong, Nokia announced Bluetooth Low Energy support will be made available to its Lumia 520, 620 and 720. This means when your supported Lumia device is connected with a Bluetooth 4.0 compatible device which supports Low Energy, you’ll be able to make full use of this feature without it making such a large impact on your battery life. Unfortunately, Nokia didn’t mention its Lumia 820, 920 and 925 during its presentation, all of which are already powered by Qualcomm chips that support this feature.
Hopefully this mention of Bluetooth LE support means Nokia is considering rolling the feature out to its complete line of Lumias in the near future, although it’s definitely a bummer to hear its more popular 920 and 925 have yet to be mentioned in possibly receiving this pretty important update.
