Mozilla Firefox OS Devices Officially Launched, Coming To More Countries Soon
I guess you can say that Firefox OS devices have been nearly two years in the making, and so, it is high time all of that hard work paid off. Having said that, today marks the official launch of Firefox OS devices in stores, but the question of “Where?” does arise, since we did talk about how the ZTE Open was available in Spain last week already. Telefonica’s launch in Spain can be said to be the first for Firefox OS, but the other next stops would be Poland, Colombia and Venezuela – with more countries in the pipeline, of course. Apart from that, Mozilla has also started to facilitate payments for developers who are interested in charging users for their apps or content within their apps.
The Firefox Marketplace, as it is called, would allow developers to upload and share their apps, and has started to accept payments already. Are you going to jump aboard this particular mobile operating system bandwagon, or are you pretty much happy and satisfied with whatever device you are using at the moment? I am guessing that most folks would still prefer to stick to the familiar – Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8 and to a certain extent, BlackBerry 10. Perhaps it is time to live life dangerously and more on the edge by trying a Firefox OS device?
