Magic Media i5 Is An Android-Powered Handheld Game Console

magic-media-i5Normally when one were to talk about handheld consoles, two household names come into mind – the Nintendo 3DS as well as the Sony PS Vita, where the former has yet to live up to the expectations and standard set by its predecessor, the wildly successful Nintendo DS, and the latter, well, the latter is as PlayStation as it could get. Perhaps there needs to be a “third pillar” in the handheld games console department, and can Android fill up these relatively large pair of shoes? Perhaps, and might the Magic Media i5 be their champion?

We won’t really know, but Chinese hardware manufacturer MUCH intends to roll out their Magic Media i5 handheld game console which will run on a MTK6589 quad-core processor underneath its hood. It ain’t too shabby in terms of specifications, sporting a 5” IPS display at 1,280 x 720 pixels, game control buttons integrated direction pads located on the sides of the case. Not only that, you will also find a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7 MediaTek chip with PowerVR SGX544MP graphics, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory which can be augmented via microSD. Do you think it is worth $200 of your hard earned money?
