LG Reportedly Working On Windows Phone 8 Device Of Their Own

When it comes to Windows Phone based devices, brand names such as Nokia, HTC, Samsung, Huawei and ZTE probably come to mind. Other brands such as Motorola and LG have been more towards Android, but word on the street has it that LG is looking to enter the Windows Phone market place as well. According to the folks at LightReadingIndia, LG has reportedly created a Windows Phone device which is currently under development at the company’s R&D center.

According to a quote from LG India’s managing director, Kwon Soon, he has seemingly confirmed the existence of the device by saying, “At home (South Korea), we are actually working on our Windows Phone 8 OS powered smartphone.” There’s no telling when this phone will launch, but supposedly LG is current assessing the market opportunity of Windows Phone devices which could ultimately affect the company’s decision as to whether it will be a good idea to push ahead with said device.

We’re definitely open to the idea of more Windows Phone devices in the market, although given that companies such as HTC and Samsung are focusing on multiple operating systems, Nokia is the only one who seems to be making a real effort in developing Windows Phone products that are packed with features, so hopefully LG’s efforts will be one done in earnest as well.
