We recently stumbled onto the HTC Desire 500 when its name leaked from a list of upcoming devices taken from inside of O2 Germany. Since its leak, we haven’t heard much in regards to the device, but that will all change by this time next week as HTC has sent out invites for a July 23 event in Taipei where they will announce the Desire 500.
The invite displays an interesting slogan for the HTC Desire 500, which says “Energy of the young, imagination of the boundless.” We’re not entirely sure what that means as it also gives no indication on what kind of device it’ll be either. Considering the HTC Desire 200 and Desire 600 are low-end and high-end Android devices respectively, we can’t help but believe the Desire 500 will possibly sit right in the mid-range Android device area.
We guess we’ll just have to wait until July 23 comes rolling around to learn more about the HTC Desire 500 as we don’t even know yet if this will be a device that will make its way to the U.S. or just be a mid-range smartphone for the Asian market. Either way, we’ll be keeping an eye out and will report whatever HTC has to share from their event.
